Ediciones del Prado/Del Prado Publishers was founded in 1988 in Madrid (Spain) and from the outset the company has published collectable part-works.

Since then, it has grown steadily to become one of the world’s three largest companies in the subsector of mass distribution of products through newsagents or similar. After expanding throughout Latin America, and being the first to penetrate the Brazilian market, the company has grown into Europe and the rest of the world.

Currently, the DelPrado trademark can be found in countries as different as Germany and Mexico, France and Australia, Argentina and Italy and, of course, Spain. In all, we have a presence in over twenty countries.

In Spain, Ediciones del Prado has published a number of products that have been distributed through book shops and other conventional channels and which have been praised for their sophistication and good quality. These include Palabras Mayores and Archivos del Prado y Libros Singularesamong other collections.

However, Ediciones del Prado’s work focuses on its collectable part-works. The company’s great collections, which are finely-crafted, well presented and which present highly original material, have treated a huge range of subjects for a very varied audience, from general topics to more specialist ones.

Music has been a popular subject for Ediciones del Prado. Collections of classical music, such as Baroque Concert and Chamber Concert and of popular music, such as Daily Life and Songs, New Music and Singer Songwriters, have been some of the small landmarks within the music range. More recently, the Film Sound Tracks and the DVD opera collection continue this tradition.

Arts and crafts are another specialism of Ediciones del Prado. TheDolls’ House part work, which was hugely popular in over twenty countries, brought about a small revolution in the sector and ushered in a new age for collectable part works sold at newsagent’s. Building the Bounty and Building the Middle Ages step by stepare two other craft part works to have brought great success for Ediciones del Prado.

Recently, collecting miniatures has also become more popular thanks to brilliant publications such as Aircraft of the Aces, Car Collection, Men at War in the 20th Century, Porcelain Trinket Boxes, Fire Engines and Bicycles.

Art, nature, the world of children and historical topics are more of the subject areas in which Ediciones del Prado has a proved track record.
